# How unique writer users counted in billing report

In Writer version 5.1.8, Fixed an issue where users opening articles via the Writer modal popup were not counted, causing discrepancies between Dashboard and Billing reports.

* Unique user tracking now includes all access points of writer: **modal popup, workspace, shared URLs, My Assignment workspace and browser/external tabs**, ensuring aligned reporting.
* A unique user is counted once per **monthly billing cycle** if an article is opened for **at least 10 seconds**, regardless of repeated access.
