# Campaigns

Customize how your visitors interact with your service

A campaign is a set of [conversations](/engage/-MGi9-KKLwnWfoD36Ot6/fundamentals/campaigns/conversations.md).

All the conversations settings and subcomponents ([filters](/engage/-MGi9-KKLwnWfoD36Ot6/fundamentals/campaigns/conversations/filters.md), [expiration types](/engage/-MGi9-KKLwnWfoD36Ot6/fundamentals/campaigns/conversations/expiration-types.md), [actions](/engage/-MGi9-KKLwnWfoD36Ot6/fundamentals/campaigns/actions.md)) are grouped and managed within one campaign.

Engage allows you to create multiple campaigns, but only one of them can be active on your website at a given time. 

## Creating a Campaign

To create a campaign, navigate to the **Campaigns** tab in your Engage dashboard, and, in the top right corner of the campaigns panel, click on the **+New** button. In the newly opened window, enter the name of your campaign. You can also copy a previously created campaign – simply select the name of the relevant campaign from the drop-down menu next to **Copy existing campaign.**

You can also delete or edit (rename) your campaign by using the respective **Delete** and **Edit** buttons on the top right of the **Campaigns** panel. 

Use the switcher next to these buttons to activate or deactivate the campaign. All your deactivated campaigns will be shown as grayed out in the **Select a campaign** drop-down menu on the top right.

## Importing and Exporting Campaigns 

Additionally, by clicking the **Options** button, you can select from several exporting and importing options for your campaigns: you can export or import the entire campaign, the relevant [conversations](/engage/-MGi9-KKLwnWfoD36Ot6/fundamentals/campaigns/conversations.md), or the relevant [actions](/engage/-MGi9-KKLwnWfoD36Ot6/fundamentals/campaigns/actions.md) within that campaign. \

Selecting any of the campaign exporting or importing options will allow you to download or upload a .json file with the relevant campaign component data.\

Importing conversations requires that you first specify the campaign where they are to be imported and the meter level they will belong to:

When exporting conversations you'll need to select their relevant campaign, meter level, then check the specific conversation(s) that you'd like to export:

Importing actions requires selecting the relevant campaign, meter level, and conversation where they are to be placed: <br>

When exporting actions, you will need to select the relevant campaign, meter level, and conversation, then check the actions that you'd like to export:

The **Business Export** option at the bottom of the **Options** drop-down menu allows you to export your entire campaign data as a .html document.
