In the right rail of the window, the available agencies are listed. Typically, a site will configure a search across all available agencies, and set filters for each individual agency. In the example below, you can select from ALL agencies, or filter by agencies AFP, Bloomberg, etc.
In the example below, clicking on the "AFP" link will filter the results to show only stories from Agence France-Presse.
You may set each column to search for a particular term. In the example below, searches for all stories, sports, finance and travel are being monitored.
To set up a search, click the caret on the left of the column's header to expose the column's search field.
In the search field, type your search term.
Hit Enter or Return on your keyboard. The search term will be shown as a chip beneath the search field.
You may further filter the results using a second search term with operators. Type another search term in the search window.
You will be presented the choices:
To see Sport AND tennis, which will show you stories that have both terms.
To see Sport NOT tennis, which will show you all stories with the term "sport" but not the term "tennis."
To see Sport OR tennis, which will show you stories that meet either condition.
Click on your wanted choice to complete the search.
To remove a search term, hover over the chip and click the ensuing "x" icon to remove the term. Upon click, the column will refresh with the new results.
The columns will automatically update based on the search terms as new stories arrive. The columns are always sorted with the newest stories first.
Each columns' search term corresponds to the agency window you have selected. In the example below, the ALL agencies button is selected.
Click on the AFP button, and the window will update to the column layout and searches you configured for AFP.
The column layout and column searches are persistent for your user. When you leave the Wire workspace and return, you'll be presented with the column configuration and searches you created when you left.
