In the top bar the users that are active in the article are displayed.
If there is only one user active, that means there is only one user that has the article open for editing. The avatar can be displayed with an image or as short letters of your name.
The users that have the articles open for editing are displayed in the top bar. As there is no unsaved changes the lock is open.
If one of them starts to edit the article, the lock will be closed. Read more about Locked article here.
It one of the user saves the article, the other one will get a message about this.
The IMID-tracker-plugin is responsible for rendering of the Active user display in the writer, see docs for plugins. The avatar images should be configured either in Concept Admin in Dashboard or as a gravatar (gravatar.com).
