Classified Text Editor
Using the Editor functions
The classified text editor is available in Booking Wizard if the templates are HTML by clicking the "Edit Template Text" button

It is also available in the Booking wizard if the 2nd selection to compose or upload the ad is selected, on the compose material tab...

And finally, it is available in Full line entry on the materials tab of any line with ad type that is flagged as "Is Listing Ad".

The following icons are available for use and are described below, in order from left to right:

Some icons are failry simple and straightforward, while others have quite a lot to them
Zoom Level - This is simply the magnification of the editor window itself. Those of us with old eyes certainly appreciate bumping that up to 150-175% sometimes! Whatever you set it to will be remembered next time you open the order entry window
Source Code - This shows the HTML for the ad itself. It is not recommended that users mess around in here - it is more for Naviga and Admins to troubleshoot issues.
Undo / Redo - Similar to how these would function in Word or other application undo is on the left and it will undo the last change. Redo is on the right and will re-do the last action. These can be clicked multiple times to undo/redo several steps/changes
Point Size - dropdown of point sizes available to manually change the font size. By using templates, more granular sizes can be selected. Also, in Advertising System Parameters (Setup -> Admin -> System Parameters), the available point sizes can be further restricted. A default point size can also be selected.
Font - dropdown of available fonts. If you have custom fonts, you may provide them to Naviga Support/Implementation to have them loaded onto your server. Otherwise there are some standard windows fonts included. There is a setting in System Parameters (Setup -> Admin -> System Parameters), to limit these choices to ONLY your custom fonts and not allow any of the standard machine fonts.
Text Color - Dropdown includes several colors which can be selected for the text color
Background color - Same colors as above, but this is for background color. This is a text background color - so it is like a highlight. To have a full background color on the entire ad, it is recommended to use a template (Either a template with metadata or a code block template)
Paragraph and other Formats - This is a dropdown which contains some preset formatting options. These might be useful if you are not using templates or code blocks - but what can be done in templates is much more powerful than these. Select Paragraph - Inline - superscript or subscript if you need to type anything with superscript or subscript font.
Bold Italic Underline Strikethrough - These behave like standard Word. User can select some text and click any of these buttons to make the selected text bold/italic/underlined or strikethrough.
HTML Code Block Templates - These are handy options to add some more complex styling without using the template and metadata option. Please navigate to Setup -> Classified Order Setup -> Liner Entry Html Templates / Code Blocks to set these up so that users can use them. There are examples available in the documentation.
Justify Left Center Right Full - These are paragraph styles, so the user can select inside the desired paragraph and then click the desired format button. If more then the desired text changes, ensure that there is a hard return before/after the desired text to format.
Toggle Hyphenation - If templates are used, hyphenation may be part of the template and the user might not need to manually select it. But if it is not part of the template, the user can click this button to toggle hyphenation on/off. This is also a paragraph style, so like the above option, if hyphenation is desired and there are hard returns between paragraphs, the user might need to select it for each paragraph
Insert Bullets - This option will insert a bulleted list into the ad. Please also see formatting options with templates tips and tricks
Insert numbered list - This option will insert a numbered list into the ad. Please also see formatting options with templates tips and tricks
Decrease / Increase Indent - this will indent the left entire paragraphs. It indents 10px of padding along the left margin.
Insert / Edit Link - This will insert a hyperlink in the ad, though not sure how helpful that would really be in real life since generally it is the metadata that is sent out to web feeds rather than the html in the text editor. The text editor is most often used for print.
Insert / Edit Image - There are several parts to the image editing that can be really helpful to the user.
If creating the ad ad-hoc in the text editor window, the image icon might be clicked on to upload the image. To add an image that is already on file, click the icon below:

A dialog window will open up for the file library to find images for the client or to find standard images in the catalog (click 'Client Images" along the left to upload a new image or to select an existing image for the client). Otherwise double-click to select an existing image:

Once selected, the image will drop into the ad wherever the cursor had been previously. If necessary, click and drag the image to another position or use the blue square grab boxes to resize on the fly, or click the image options button (last on the toolbar) and type in an exact width and depth. Note: the blue grab boxes in the corners seem to be happiest when the text editor zoom level is set to 100%.

To upload an image just for this ad and NOT store it on the client account for future use, select the upload tab in the insert/edit image dialog:\

Click the "Browse for an image" button or drag and drop an image into the dotted square. Upon upload the tab will change to the General tab with the image location in the source field:

Take note of the width of the image and the width of the ad. This image example would be overset. The user can either select grab-bars in the ad to resize the image, or they can type in this box. If it was desired to be a full width image, it might be easiest to just type in the box 175 instead of the current 308, or something smaller if a little padding was needed around the image. User can also select the image and select justification options to justify the image, for example to center it, click the center justification icon.
The advanced icon allows for some additional image options like adding a border to the image or some extra space above/below (vertical space) or left/right (horizontal space) of the image

Once the image is in the ad. click on the image and the resizing grab bars will appear and so will some icons for further editing:

From left to right, the icons are as follow:
Rotate Left
Rotate Right
Flip Vertically
Flip Horizontally
Edit Image - Edit image gives even more image options like cropping, resizing, orientation, brightness, sharpen, contrast, color levels, gamma, invert

Image Options (image options dialog will also open if the image is selected and the insert/Edit image button from the top icons are selected
)
Table - Inserting a table may be more complex than necessary for most ads, but where there is a desire to have tabular columns it might come in handy - perhaps in a legal notice for example.\

Adding a table here is somewhat similar to adding one in, say, a Word document. Select how many columns and rows are needed to start (more can be added later if needed). Once the initial table is inserted, select the table to see additional options:

From left to right, these options are
Table Properties
Delete Table
Insert Row Before
Insert Row After
Delete Row
Insert column Before
Insert column After
Delete column
Click on the grid lines to get a blue square icon which will allow the user to drag the cell edges to the left/right or up/down to change the size of the columns or rows. Highlight the text entered into the cells and use the standard font/justification options to edit the text size/formatting. (Note, when dragging and dropping to resize the table, it is best to set the text editor zoom to 100%)
After dragging/dropping the entire table to a smaller or larger size, if the rows need to be better sized, can use Row properties by selecting the whole table as shown below, clicking the table icon at the top and selecting Row -> Row properties

The table properties option allows for editing things like the borders, width on the page, cell spacing/padding, etc. For example, if the table is desired for formatting, but it isn't intended that the reader will see the actual lines separating the cells, change the Border to 0 instead of 1 - then you will see dotted edges in the text editor for visualizing, but you will not see it in the actual ad.

Insert Non-breaking Space - This will insert a non-breaking space wherever the cursor is.
Here is an example. Suppose in the following ad, I wanted to ensure that the full date was on one line in the final ad copy, and right now it is wrapping to the next line:

In the text editor window, I will first remove the spaces and then add them back in by clicking the icon like this:

It will look the same as the original in the text editor, but in the final ad image, you will see that the entire date is now on the same line:

Border options - For ads that don't already have a border added as part of the template, a border can be added manually here. Options are as follows (rounded option displayed):

Line Spacing - This option will alter the amount of space between the lines of text. More granularity in these settings IS now supported in 2024.5 and later, so if you need to have a finer adjustment than what is supported in the dropdown, please consider adding it to your metadata and/or to your templates.

Swapping Placeholder Graphics
I made a short tutorial video which might be helpful to understand the best way to swap out Placeholder Graphics for the real image once the images are ready.
