Insert rows after body text

Using this option makes it possible to add empty rows between the body text and the byline. A prerequisite for this is obviously that your design place the byline after the body text.

In this example we have a layout where we use Adjust frame size to adjust the size of the image and its caption by column.

An article with under-set body text.

Running elastic on the article above will increase the image/caption to two columns. After this operation we still have some empty rows after the byline.

The image is resized to two columns, but the article is still under-set.

A nice way to make the article align with the layout frames is to add empty lines between the body text and the byline using a setting called Insert rows after body text. This option is set on the body text frame in the layout.

The configuration is set on the body text frame in the layout.

Insert rows after body text will search for the last paragraph with body text (by finding the paragraph style that the majority of characters in the frame use) and then adds empty rows until:

  1. the article is copy fit, or

  2. the limit set by configuration is reached.

The result in our example will look like this:

The article is now copy fit.
