Fit content to frame

Sometimes you want the content to adjust to the frame to make the article copy fit. Also, for images, we want to take advantage of functions that already exist in InDesign.

Here is an example with a headline that is over-set in the frame, and also an image that do not fit very well by default when placed in InDesign.

Both the headline and the main image needs adjustment to fit their frames better.

With Naviga Templates you can apply a property called Fit content to frame to make both text as well as images fit their frames better. In this case we want to make the headline to adjust to the frame by changing the font size.

Select the frame and check the Fit content to frame option.

Next thing is to select the image frame and choose the desired option. In this case we want to use the InDesign built in Content aware fit (available from InDesign CC 2019) that analyze the image and adjust it depending on the content.

Choose the desired option for fitting the image to its frame.

The result when the article is elastified is a headline that is adjusted to the frame and an image that shows the essential part of the image.

Headline and main image automatically adjusted to fit their frames.
