Editing stories in Naviga Writer after layout

In a typical content-first workflow, creating the Print version of the story will usually happen after the story is written, edited and ready for publication. On occasion, however, it will be necessary to edit the text or change a photo after the story has been written.

Filtering Article Search for print stories

To easily locate the print versions of the story in the Dashboard, you may filter the Article Search list by "Media Type: Print." Simply type the word "print" in the Article Search window and choose "Media Type: Print" from the results.

You may also filter the Article Search window by other NCS Content properties, such as print workflow status and page link status. Simply start typing the name of the status into the Article Search window and choose it from the list.

To filter on print stories for a particular publicaton date, simply click on the date selector icon in Article Search and choose the wanted publication date or date range.

Click on the story's card to launch the story in Writer for editing. This will take you directly to the story's Print version. You may toggle between the Print and Digital versions of a story without returning to the Article Search panel.

Changes are saved to NCS Content when you click "Save" (or keyboard shortcuts Cmd-S on Mac, Ctrl-S on Windows.) You will see an indicator when the save process has completed.

If the story is placed on a page, the page designer will be required to writeforth the changes to bring the changes to the page.
