Working with images

If your story includes photos, those photos will be copied to NCS Content for print publication. The captions are automatically created and linked to the article in NCS Content.

The photos will be linked to the article in NCS Content in the order in which they appear in Naviga Writer. To change the order, remove and re-link the photos in Writer in the wanted order. Upon save, the new order will be reflected in NCS Content.

If the story is placed on a page, the photos will not be reordered.

If a photo is removed from the print story in Naviga Writer, the photo and its caption will be unlinked from the article in NCS Content. The photo will remain in the NCS Content Pictures list.

Supported image formats

NCS Content supports upload of JPG files only. Other formats (png, gif, pdf) are supported in Naviga Writer for digital publication. It's possible that images of formats other than JPG will be used in digital articles, but these image formats are not suitable for print publication. You should remove images that are not JPG images from the Print story after you create the print story.

If an article includes a linked image that is in .png or .gif format, the Naviga Writer will create the print version, but the print version will fail to save. Remove the .png or .gif images in the Print version to save the story.

If an article includes a linked PDF, the linked PDF will be stripped from the Print version and will not appear in NCS Content.
