Typical workflow in NCS Content

Articles sent from Writer may be produced for print publication in NCS Content. The web service maps the headline and body text created in Digital Writer to the headline and body fields of the NCS Content Format or Article Geometry chosen when the story was sent to the Digital Writer.

Text field mappings

It is possible to configure very rich mapping between text element types in Naviga Writer and NCS Content, significantly reducing the amount of manual work required to format text for print publication.

An example:

The system may also be configured to properly format elements such as bylines, byline attributions, inline subheads and more. Consult your system-specific setup for the text element mappings that apply to your installation.

Finding the story in NCS Content

The web service will create an Article in NCS Content, linked to a Story Package plan element.

NOTE: The name of the Story Package plan element might vary in your installation. When this document refers to a Story Package plan element, it refers to the plan element in your system that is designated as a Story Package in the NCS Content Admin.

If you use Story Packages in your workflow, you can find the Story Package in the Story Packages list.

Otherwise, simply find the article in the Articles list.

The article's Name will be the name given to the story in the Article Name plugin in the Writer.
