ShowLocks

The ShowLocks tool displays database records that are currently locked and identifies the user who is using each record. It is intended for diagnostic purposes when a record cannot be modified because it is in use by another user or process.

Access to ShowLocks is controlled through Menu Security (System > Security Menu > Menu Security).

• The default security value is set to Not Activated. When set to Not Activated, users cannot access this menu option.

• Only users assigned to the appropriate Menu Security ID can access ShowLocks. Users who are not part of the assigned Menu Security ID cannot access this option.

• Contact Naviga Support if assistance is required to configure Menu Security.

To access the ShowLocks tool:

1. Go to Character Utilities > System > ShowLocks.

2. The ShowLocks screen is displayed.

   
3. Complete the following fields:

   Field	Description
   AUTO REFRESH	Enter y to refresh the display automatically, or n to disable automatic refresh.
   EVERY	Specifies the refresh interval, in seconds, when AUTO REFRESH is enabled.
   CREATE OUTPUT FILE	Enter y to generate an output file, or n to display the information on screen only.
   OUTPUT TO	Specify the name of the file to create in the default exchange directory when CREATE OUTPUT FILE is enabled.

4. After completing all required fields, press Enter, then select Continue to generate the list.
