Lock / Unlock Page

Locking and unlocking pages, ads, banners, fillers, and reserved spaces

You can lock a page—which locks all the ads on the page to prevent anyone from changing or deleting them—or lock one or more individual ads, banners, fillers, or reserved spaces on a page. You can also unlock those items.

Locking

  1. To lock one or more pages, select a page or pages and do one of the following:

    • Choose Pages -> Lock Page.

    • Press Ctrl-L (Windows) or Command-L (Mac OS).

    • Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS) a single unselected page, and from the menu, choose Lock Page. To lock more than one page in this way, select all but one of the pages you want to lock, hold down the Shift key, and right-click the unselected page. From the menu, choose Pages ->Lock Page

    • In the toolbar, click the Lock icon ().

    • Open the Page Attributes dialog box. Click the lock icon (), then click Apply or OK. Important: This locks all the ads on the page, but does not lock other page attributes, such as grids, notes, or color.

  2. To lock individual ads, banners, fillers, or reserved spaces on a page, select one or more and do one of the following:

    • Choose Pages -> Lock Ad.

    • Press Ctrl-L (Windows) or Command-L (Mac OS).

    • Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS) a single unselected item, and from the menu, choose Lock Ad. To lock more than one item in this way, select all but one of the items you want to lock, hold down the Shift key, and right-click the unselected item. From the menu, choose Lock Ad.

    • In the toolbar, click the Lock icon ( ).

Unlocking

To unlock one or more pages, select the page or pages, and do one of the following:

  1. To unlock ads, banners, fillers, or reserved spaces, select one or more and do one of the following:

    • Choose Pages -> Unlock Page.

    • Press Ctrl+Shift-L (Windows) or Command+Shift-L (Mac OS).

    • Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS) a single unselected page, and from the menu, choose Unlock Page. To lock more than one page in this way, select all but one of the pages you want to lock, hold down the Shift key, and right-click the unselected page. From the menu, choose Unlock Page.

    • Select a page or pages, and in the toolbar, click the Unlock icon ()

    • Select a page or pages and open the Page Attributes dialog box. Click the Locked icon (), then click Apply or OK.

  2. To unlock ads, banners, fillers, or reserved spaces, select one or more and do one of the following:

    • Choose Pages -> Unlock Ad.

    • Press Ctrl+Shift-L (Windows) or Command+Shift-L (Mac OS).

    • Right-click (Windows) or Control-click (Mac OS) a single unselected item, and from the menu, choose Unlock Ad. To unlock more than one item in this way, select all but one of the items you want to lock, hold down the Shift key, and right-click the unselected item. From the menu, choose Unlock Ad.

    • In the toolbar click the Unlock icon ().
